One:Acinetobacter transtemporalis
Acinetobacter transtemporalis is a pathogenic bacteria, and the scourge of the post-Excession era. Evolutionary biologists have theorized that it is most closely related to Acinetobacter baumannii, though that relationship has proven difficult to confirm due to the bacteria's tendency to scramble its DNA frequently. (How the organism is able to do this without inducing internal chaos is currently unknown.)
A. transtemporalis was first discovered in the months following the Tertiary Excession. Some scientists maintain that the species evolved in reaction to the period of temporal flux that resulted from the Excession, while others insist they are in fact anachronistic creatures that were brought to our time from the distant future. If the latter is true, A. transtemporalis is the first known example of a biological species that can survive temporal displacement. It has been suggested that a concentrated study of A. transtemporalis may lead to significant advancements in the field of transdimensional engineering.
The species' pathogenicity is opportunistic in nature, mostly affecting those who are immuno-compromised. Infection commonly results in a bright red skin rash, vomiting, diarrhea, secondary infection from other opportunistic bacteria, and a vague sense having been in a particular location before, or never having been there, or not being there now.
