The Ballad of the Nardinos
Written and Performed by Woody "Troubador Unit DC445-32" Guthrie,
Come and listen to a story ‘bout a race called Nardinos
Scaly space farers coming down from the cosmos
They believed hardcore in a faith called Asterismism
But then one day, well, they all had a schism
(religious that is, mass genocide, atrocities)
Well the first thing you know the old Nardinos are decimated
Some of them said this home’s what we’ve always hated
Said planet earth is the place we ought to be
To develop our messed up eschatology
(Excessionistic-Asterismism that is, incomprehensible, all-encompassing)
Well now it’s time to say goodbye to the Nardino race
Few of them are left now to spread their astro-Grace
Some say they’re hidden, wrapped up in human skin
but you can always spot them by their lizard grin
(Nardinos, that’s what they called ‘em,
Nice aliens y’all come back now, ya hear?
May the cosmic dust grace your skin and reveal all the creatures of the universe in their divine forms! Praise Finkel!)
