Broken people was originally a term of art within killbot society, making an unambiguous human translation problematic. Through their actions we do know that they saw broken people as targets to be doggedly pursued until destroyed.
Today "broken people" or more broadly, labeling a human as "broken", can have a number of possible meanings:
-(colloquial, informal) someone corrupt, sociopathic, or otherwise fit to be shunned or killed -(technical, among librarians and the like) someone suspected of not having a continuous and/or coherent timeline within our reality -a person driven insane as a result of being present on the periphery of an excession or microexcession event.
