| The Kourt process is performed by dedicated Legal Enactment And General Law Enforcement robots (called the Legal EAGLES) each day. Trials are carried out by processing available surveillance and sensory data, and can take up to 45 minutes, longer if the case requires human testimony (often acquired through neuroscanning). Rulings are handed down immediately by the presiding Legal EAGLE and may not be appealed. Typical punishments include fines (payable in most non-static currencies), imprisonment (for periods up to 50,000,000 minutes), forced [[One:Robotification|robotification]], or (most commonly) death. Malus Malus (alternatively spelled Maluus Malus, though this may just be a typographical error) is the putative author of the mysterious novel, Load of Bollocks.
The popular and critically acclaimed novel Load of Bollocks appeared on or about Darjeeling 25, 55 AK. Copies of it (along with appropriate electronic bibliographical and/or inventory data entries) were found on that day in libraries, bookstores, private book collections, cafés, laundromats and other likely places across the globe. It has never been determined if the appearance of the book was a massive prank or a genuine anachronism, but the sheer magnitude of such an undertaking suggests that it is unlikely to be a prank.
